THIS DAY IN ARKANSAS WEATHER HISTORY... Apr. 7 1903-Tornadoes touched down at Scotland, Rose Bud, and Pangburn with 10 dead. 1972-A tornado touched down near Caraway in Craighead County. 1980-Thirteen tornadoes touched down, mainly along the I-40 Corridor. Clarksville, Mayflower, and West Memphis were the hardest hit. 2007-The temperature fell to 23 at Harrison. Apr. 8 1857-Three inches of snow fell in northern Marion County. 1860-The temperature reached 92 at Little Rock. 1873-Light snow flurries fell at Mount Ida. 1875-A tornado touched down in Pulaski County with six fatalities. 1913-Little Rock had its record 24 hour rainfall of 9.58 inches into the 9th, with widespread flooding around the state. 1979-Tornadoes touched down across the south. Camden and Hamburg were the hardest hit. 1984-A tornado touched down at Nashville. 2007-A severe late-season cold outbreak peaked, with morning lows of 12 at Lead Hill, 17 at Calico Rock, 18 at Gilbert, 24 at Mount Ida, 28 at Little Rock, and 28 at Star City.
