THIS FRIDAY, 6/14: The Calhoun County Safe Schools Alliance is a local organization that is actively working toward making our schools secure so a tragedy like the one Newtown, Connecticut can never happen here. The $25 you will spend on a ticket for the 1st Annual Safe Schools Summit is an investment in the safety of our local kids and an assurance that we are doing our part at a local level. This organization is doing things the right way without assigning blame to inanimate objects. They are identifying safety issues and correcting them to the extent the law will allow and if necessary will advocate for legal changes to better protect our kids.
