THIS IS A LETTER, written by my friend, prof. em. Juliusz Brzezinski to the Jerusalem Post: -------------------------------------------- I write to you from Sweden where, as you probably know, a new red-green government started to operate. I have already seen many reactions on the statement of the new Swedish PM on recognizing Palestine. There are, however, many peculiarities related to this new government like the education minister who was in Israel in 2003, participated in the protests against the security barrier and was detained by the Israeli security forces, the culture minister who was detained twice for using narcotics, the employment minister who was questioned by the tax authorities in connection with her business in which the only asset was she herself with a salary paid by state grants, the civil affairs minister who took money for non-existing members of the social democratic youth organization and so on and so on. But the real scandal is the present housing minister Mehmet Kaplan who is the reason of my letter to you. He was one of the participants of the Gaza Flotilla when the Marmara incident took place. He is an active member of several Muslim religious organizations in Sweden and works actively in order to de-legitimize Israel. Lately, he was known for equating Swedish Muslims going to Syria and Iraq to join IS(IS) to Swedes who went to Finland to fight against the Soviet Union during WWII. There are videos from a demonstration against the last war with Hamas during which, in his speech, he calls for liberation of Palestine and ends with we will liberate Jerusalem (https://youtube/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=-5spswUow3).I So my question is why do you only mention, still somewhat theoretical plans for recognizing Palestine and do not write about a minister in the Swedishgovernment, who officially gives his support to IS(IS) and, in fact, to Hamas (the new civil affairs minister Ardalan Shekarabi formulated his support for Hamas still more clearly in 2009). I enclose several links but, unfortunately, some of them are in Swedish. I hope that this aspect of a clear anti-Semitic stance of the present Swedish government will become known and presented to the world opinion. With best regards, Juliusz Brzezinski professor em. in mathematics hurriyetdailynews/turkish-politician-appointed-as-minister-in-new-swedish-cabinet-.aspx?pageID=238&nID=72505&NewsCatID=351
