THIS IS A THREAD FROM MY INBOX TODAY, SOMEONE ASKED THAT I BE REMOVED FROM THE NARRAGANSETT GROUP.... Ive been asked to remove you from the Narragansett Indian Group page for posting tribal business. Id rather not do that and would like to try telling you not to do it first. Please do not use this public group page to post information about the tribe or its members. If it continues, I will do what Ive been asked to do and remove you from the group. Thank you. I truly understand. I did believe that its for Narragansett interest and notifications. I believe that when someone is attacked and verbally tormented that its the business of the nation. Im am not discussing in no way the tribal construct nor tribal business affairs. I believe that tribal members have the right to be safe and not humiliated by a faction or group. Please believe that i do not speak with malice against anyone. I am one to advocate and speak for what is right. this is with all due respect. I do understand your plight. respectfully, woman who walks tall. If u dont mind, was it the chief who asked u to remove me. Id rather not say who asked me but Im glad you understand my predicament. yes i do, may i ask, is this a private forum or is it instituted by the tribe? If so I understand the conflict. However, it its not then why should people be offended by posts that are informative re safety and indirectly and without malice be offended. Its a public Facebook group and is not affiliated with the Narragansett tribal government. I concede to the request because I understand their is no public forum suitable, to address private tribal body information. Chris, speaking one to one. what i posted was not private tribal business the Charles town police were there which made it public information. its reported by police as public information and falls under the freedom of information act. I truly know ur in between a roc and a hard place and im not being disrespectful but am informing our people that we need to be safe in our own surroundings. Do u understand me as a social worker and advocate for the people. If i fall back on my belief then i become just as volatile.
