THIS IS HOW TO SCHOOL AN ANTI 4X4 TIT!!!!! VERY PROUD OF MYSELF Karen Solway oh it will come down your way too! if they are going to kill town they will kill the bridge too 7 hrs · Like Simon Peter Penney About time too I did my degree project on traffic and recommended pay parking in 1989. 7 hrs · Like · 1 Karen Solway Sorry Simon you are so wrong, this is not the right time, I hope it never will be, but they dont have a decent bus service, let them prove that first, we live in a modern world we need our cars, we love our cars, we do not have a problem! we have 2 rush hours one both lasts all of 20 minutes, all of this is most rediculous 7 hrs · Like Simon Peter Penney Guernsey need tri shaws not cars it is immoral the number of 4x4 there. Tax them off the road I say!!!! Finally a states with balls well done Jonathan Le Tocq 5 hrs · Like · 1 Simon Peter Penney Polluter pays you pollute therefore you pay !! 5 hrs · Like Simon Peter Penney Only in Guernsey could you get the environment committee resign on probably the single best action for the environment the government could take.....we dont need them anyway! 1 hr · Like Chris Martin If someone wants to own a 4 x 4 or any other type of car for that matter why shouldnt they? I own two land Rovers and Im a member of a local club, they are a passion of mine and I happen to love driving them and working on them. If your one of these Ill informed pollution idiots you need to wake up and smell what you are shoveling. A land Rover that has been on the roads for 30 years has done a damn site less pollution than a family that replace their car for a new one every 5 years. And if you want to go down the hybrid route thats even worse, where are the parts made? How do they get flown around the world to be assembled? How are the batteries made? How long do they last? How do you depose of them when theyre knackered? Do your research before you start making unsubstantiated claims u idiot. Too many people jumping on the anti 4x4 band wagon with no information to back up their ridiculous claims. Its funny how these same people suddenly change their tune when its snowing and they want our help! 59 mins · Like · 1 Simon Peter Penney With 20 years in international environmental policy and governance post grad qualifications and professional qualifications and experience in 15 different countries I think I am moderately informed. There is a reason dinasours arent around anymore. Whilst we do live in the age of stupid but slowly people are waking! 44 mins · Like Chris Martin Heres another interesting fact for you captain planet, a 3.9 little v8 land Rover discovery creates less pollution to build, own and drive for 10 years than a Toyota prius does to just build! This is due to the very large jets flying the parts in from all over the globe and the fact that they use batteries. Your move, but I believe thats check! 41 mins · Like · 2 Simon Peter Penney Well past playing that game good luck ! 40 mins · Like Chris Martin Thats an impressive cv, so what are you basing your claims on then? Or do your qualifications cover the internal combustion engine as well as aero engineering? 38 mins · Like · 1 Simon Peter Penney I understand your frustration Chris we in the environmental world do not communicate well at all. It is not greenies v techs but we need to work constructively impact of cars in guernsey makes almost no impact at all on global climate etc but multiply that by US Canada Africa and it is having a significant impact we all need to do out bit regardless how little we feel it is 30 mins · Like Chris Martin Again you are not using any facts in your argument, you are merely using your opinion as fact. If you are that keen to stop cars polluting, then like i have previously stated you should be focusing your efforts on these hybrid things that keep popping up as a supposed green car when in fact they are the complete opposite. I also use land rovers for work for towing very heavy plant, i cannot use a G wizz or electric mobility scooter for this can i? If there is no future for the car due to this apparent global warming then an alternative may need to be found. These electric cars are not the answer, where does the electric come from? You said it your self, Guernsey cars have little to no impact on the global issue so leave us alone to drive whatever we want, 4x4 or electric. You have just contradicted your own first statement, if we have little to no effect then why post something like that in the first place? I dont mind a good debate on pollution or 4x4s but they need to be backed up by facts, not just opinions and silly comments about dinosaurs, showing nothing more than your lack of knowledge. 7 mins · Like · 1 Simon Peter Penney Whatever 5 mins · Like Karen Solway Simon we live in a modern world, whether it is choice or demands of live cars are here to stay, therefore as modern world are most likely to be 9-5 therefore we will have traffic jams, our traffic is not that serious as major cities, our pollution rates are all low, below recommends, therefore do not penalise, when lots are struggling now. We do have to deal with deficite but give us some breathing space. 4 mins · Like Chris Martin Whatever? childish comments like that just reinforce the fact that you have no idea what you are talking about and nothing to come back at me with, just like 90% of all 4x4 protesters. I can do this all day long if you like, it really angers me when someone chirps up and talks rubbish. To say you have what seems like qualifications in this field why is it that you cannot give me one fact to back up your claim? 1 min · Like Chris Martin
