THIS IS NOT #ISLAM. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever strikes his cheeks and tears his shirt and calls to the ways of the times of ignorance is not one of us.” When the Prophets son, Ibraheem, died, neither the Prophet (pbuh) nor his companions took that month as a month of mourning or avoided marriage in it. Or when the Prophets beloved uncle, Hamzah, died and his liver was cut out and chewed on by Hind, that month was not taken as a month of mourning, neither marriage was avoided in it. So, the practice of taking Muharram as a month of mourning and avoidance of marriage in it is clearly an INNOVATION in Islam. #Shia #Muharram #Mourning
