THIS IS THE REVIEW I JUST LEFT ON MAURICES FACEBOOK PAGE. FURIOUS IS AN UNDERSTATMENT! !!!! My momma always taught me if you cant say nothing nice dont say anything at at all well Im going to be the squeaky wheel and start my review from a few months ago from my local Spearfish SD store and break a few rules that the employees at said store should learn to follow. Im a big girl, finding clothes that for is a never ending battle, I want all my essential body parts covered and tastefully done so, not too much to ask but when your built like a linebacker as my husband so lovingly tells me it gets even worse. I wear anywhere between a 2 and 3x top to modestly cover super wide shoulders, larger than necessary breasts and a gut any beer drinker (Im not) would be proud of and have the butt, hips and legs of a 12 year old boy. After YEARS of searching for jeans that fit and fit me like I prefer I found Silvers. Love them only issue is finding them in my size, not in plus section but a moderate 30*33* found in the Juniors section. A few months back I went to my local Maurices to purchase said jeans, after being told SEVERAL I think I counted 4 times; that the PLUS size jeans were on the left side of store and I wouldnt find anything that fit me on the junior side I may have been a tad rude when I informed the girl I knew what I was shopping for and knew what size I needed, made my own selections and proceeded to fitting room where she then proceeds to inform me why Silver jeans are not a good fit for bigger girls and to buy a size smaller since it was obviously your first time buying silvers apparently she had missed the Silver tag on jeans I was wearing into the store. at that point I wanted very badly to put my pending purchases back on shelf and leave, but knowing that driving over an hour in winter for a new pair of jeans was impractical I purchased 2 pairs of 90 dollar jeans and left, pissed and very irritated. Now fast forward to last Thursday, dreading the god awful sales associates I ran into store 2 kids in tow, grabbed what I thought I needed and got in line, AGAIN another girl made a comment about the jeans being juniors rather than womens. I ignored her, I was headed out of town, paid CASH 73.14 after my 25% off coupon (the cash part comes into play after my trip in today) and left. I messed up, I got a size smaller than I needed after I changed styles of Silvers, from Aikos to Tuesdays. Now my experience today, I went to exchange said Tuesdays for a 30 33 rather than the 29 33 I grabbed, the associate was PUSHY. I stated what size I needed, and that Id like to try then on, NEVER letting me look for sizes,, she hands me a 32 and 33 inch waist and tells me if I need bigger to let her know. I had to ask 3 times for a 31 to try on as they did NOT have a 30 in stock of same jeans, grudgingly she handed me 31 and 32s. SUPRISE they were too big, after she made it a point TWICE to say that Tuesdays were very low cut that should try a different style that was for fuller body types I declined and stated I wanted a refund so I could return at a later date when I had more time. Once she LOOKED at my receipt stated ugh you paid cash. Then proceeded to make a HUGE deal out of having enough money in her til to give a refund, even called other associate over to ask what she should do, here is where I just kept my mouth shut, but SERIOUSLY since when does a store the ONLY store in a college town that sells womans clothing NOT have enough business to give a refund, or say they didnt I dont care if you have to pay me in 1s and 5s give me my refund, 5 minutes later and after counting it to herself several times, she produced the cash, counted it to me on counter and asked if Id like to count it again, I as politely as I could said, I think you did a good enough job and left. Well I WONT be back, never again will I spend HUNDREDS of dollars on clothes in a store owned by maurices. I will drive the hour plus away or purchase directly from Silver, too bad too cause Maurices has potential to sell to every woman, but if all stores act like the local one here they will not be around long. I even CALLED customer service, after being told they didnt want to lose my business and said they would use my complaint as a training exercise never once did they ask how they could make it right? How they could regain MY buisness...well they most certainly will not. When you treat your customers like shit they will not be customers for long.
