THIS IS WHERE TEXAS SHOULD SHINE...... BUT SADLY WE MAY HAVE TO PULL OUT OF THE GREAT AMERICAN SEAFOOD COMPETITION DUE TO LACK OF FUNDING....... Sadly our industry is not politically supported like other states. YOU CAN HELP BY DONATING TO TSA (TexasShrimpAssociation) The State of Texas did not receive any BP funds for marketing as did ALL OTHER states. In short, I’ve never been on the same playing field as the other states and do not have a high dollar booth, decorations or consumer collateral to compete with the other funded states. If placed side by side on Friday night, I would feel embarrassed that my area would not look as ‘polished’ as my other state counterparts who have all the marketing toys. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel or throw a wrench in the plans but there are two obvious options in play here. 1. Pull Texas out of this activity all together or 2. Help me put together an area that looks appealing for my participating chef.
