THIS JUST IN: Looks like the battle to stop the construction of a Coral Gables Trolley Depot in the City of Miami’s West Grove neighborhood has now turned into a Civil Rights issue. Meantime Coral Gables has asked a judge for clarification on whether the project violates Miami’s zoning for the area. Miami City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff has consistently argued that the city approved the construction of the bus maintenance facility because it was found to be commercial use (not prohibited industrial use) but internal e-mails obtained by Local 10 reveal project managers for the city’s zoning office found that the use fell under the definition of “industrial” as far back as May of 2011.
