THIS STATEMENT WAS RELEASED YESTERDAY (23/07/2013) PRESS STATEMENT REGARDING MEDIA HOUSE PUBLICATION TONIGHT By Mubita C. Nawa Good evening great gallants and friends. Tonight our name and car business was dragged into an unverified story. One of our family friends recently purchased a car from us. It was her second car after she liked the first car we sold to her as a family earlier in the year. In the second case our friend did not appreciate the three vehicles we offered her. She used one of the vehicles on a trip outside town and the vehicle came back damaged. We offered to fix it and she agreed. When time to deliver the vehicle came she refused it. She refused even a higher priced vehicle that we felt would suite her new expectations. Our point to her was that if she needed a new car she needed to pay the correct price for it. Eventually she asked for a refund. We offered her the refund cash on Friday of K16,500.00. This refund was less K1,500.00 which was a charge for using the car out of town, the damage to the car and the service of the car which she had authorized. She rejected the K16,500 refund on Friday and opted to take us to the law enforcement where we appeared yesterday. The law enforcement mediated and said we refund her K17,500. We agreed on the dates and amount for the payment of the refund which would be done at the police. We did not know that by that time the media were already involved. When the media called us we refused to comment because as far as we were concerned this was a private matter that was already handled and settled. As we stand here today, we have already consulted with our lawyers as well as with the key people in our business. We believe there are good people in life and we also believe there are those who desire to achieve their goals around good people. We will pray for this young lady who we have not wronged in any way. Over the past six years, our business in Zambia has grown so much because of our commitment to excellent customer service and quality product delivery. We are aware of the impact of such a media publication which was handled unprofessionally by the journalists on duty that day. We understand the desperation of some individuals to score home-runs. To all our clients, friends and family, we thank you for your support and we look forward to answering your questions over the next few days and weeks. We shall use this chapter in our lives to inspire people in business and in life to watch their backs better as they relate with different people. My family and I trusted this young lady and we will continue to pray for her joy and success. God encourages us to pray even for those who seek to harm us. Scripture encourages believers to be steadfast and we have never lost sight of our trust in God. We shall soldier on beyond any quagmire. Thank you and God bless you. Signed, Mubita C. Nawa Director Cash Cars Network, a company that provides medium term car financing to individuals and families.
