Also, Galatians 5: 2, - 6. The old covenant was abolished, contrary to your false claim - see Galatians 3: 21 - 24;4: 21 - 29, Ephesians 2: 15. The old covenant demanded complete obedience to receive life, but no one ever achieved that, not even Moses! Galatians 2: 16, Romans 3: 20 cf Ecclesiastes 7: 20. Realizing this, people turned to Yahweh for salvation by faith. First fruits and offerings given under the old covenant were actually meant to alleviate the suffering of Gods priests, his Jewish people and Gentile foreigners living with the Jews. The new testament never commands believers to pay tithes but brings out the true purpose of those offerings by commanding believers to help fellow believers in need. 2 Corinthians 8 - 9 addressed this. In fact 1 Corinthians 16: 2 commands that the Corinthians to put aside some amounts to help fellow believers. Romans 12: 13 commands believers to contribute for the needs of the saints - how many churches do this? Galatians 6: 6 commands believers to share in every good things with those who teach them the word. James 1: 27 says true religion has to do with caring for orphans and widows in their needs and keeping oneself spotless from the world. You need more Scriptures? All new testament Scriptures point to this true intent of those commands and readily show the importance of meeting the needs of people. Acts 4: 32, 33, 34 showed how the early believers held things in common: it boasted that there was not even one person was needy! You need to read your Bible, Reginald.
