THIS! This video explains it so well! Mr. 12 only ended up staying 2 nights with us, but for 2 nights he was safe, well-fed, had a warm bed to sleep in, and was cared for. We think and pray about the 4 siblings we hosted before, all the time. I often think and pray about 2 calls we have had regarding 2 other kids we agreed to host, but things didnt work out. It has been a bumpy, messy, sometimes overwhelming, emotional, and at times even discouraging road, but I am so glad we are on it. If you have ever considered doing something like this message me and I can get you more information. Today I spoke with a woman who works for the Heart program in Spokane. They provide transportation to and from school for kids who are in temporary housing (hotels, campgrounds), waiting for foster care, or living in tents, cars, or on the streets so they can stay in their home school and not have to switch midyear or drop out. They currently have over 400 children in Spokane that they are trying to accommodate. Over 400 children who do not have an actual home. Heartbreaking.
