THIS UPCOMING WEDNESDAY, THE CROWDSOURCED CHARACTER CONTEST RETURNS - YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO WRITE A PIECE OF TCGS HISTORY! Here’s how it works: 1) Email the names of three characters to zerolaughs@gmail - just the names! 2) Our writers pick ten names off the list based on what they see as having the most promise. 3) They’ll cast some of NYC’s best comedic character actors in the role, and the writers and actors will team up to fill out their vision of these characters based on the insane/hilarious/dumb names you’ve mailed in. 4) Watch TCGS live this Wednesday to see if one of your character names came to life and became one of the lucky ten. 5) Vote at thechrisgethardshow for which character you’d like to see become a part of TCGS forever! Last year brought us Vampire Abraham Lincoln Hunter, The Mopey Janitor with Bad Timing and a Broken Mop, Lil Woody Allen, The Writer Who Was Fired From The New Yorker for Being TOO Pretentious, Vinegar Al, Watermelon Cop, RONK, Audience Member With a Sleeping Baby, Meowgic Matt, and the eventual winner, The Guy Who Likes Cream but NOT TOO MUCH CREAM! Who knows what new pieces of the puzzle this year’s contest will bring to the wonderful world of public access’s beacon of hope? This is your chance to write a big chunk of the TCGS world. We put it in your hands. Because we trust you, and like you, and think that you want to have an active hand in being a part of the entertainment you choose to consume. At TCGS, we don’t think you should just watch what we give you - we think you should be the architect of it. We think you should have a television show that you control - we’re like a bunch of video game characters, and you have the joystick. This is a chance to create a character in the weird, sad game of TCGS! You can be a 90 year old grandmother in Topeka or a 10 year old kid in Australia - as long as you come at us with some interesting, creative names the crown could be yours!
