THURSDAY 10th JULY 1997: I suddenly shot up at 9:30am and thought: What have I done? In fact, it seemed quite distant, as if I had done it a long time ago, or it was a dream. I realised I couldnt be depressed about it. At least its cleared up and Douglas is cool about it. Mum had Radio 2 on as usual and they played Goin Back, but by the Byrds. This prompted me to play Dusty, then Pet Shop Boys and Deacon Blue. Jaime rang and we had a laugh about last night. She said I was the highlight. Doh! Deans meant to be callng her today... I did my Music Week paperwork and completed my ERS induction file. Jaime rang back. Dean had rung!! Theyre meeting tomorrow!! Jaimes not clear on what may happen and whether shell get feelings for him. Itd be nice if it did work out. Shes worried others will think hes a pigeon. Well, he doesnt wear a Sonetti jacket does he. She only wants me and Katherine to know. We both had the TV on to see what was on the chat shows. On Sally Jessie Raphael, it was kids who are attractive but were picked on for ugliness from their childhood. Oh, Jaime also said Dean said he had something to tell her but hed do it tomorrow. We tried puzzling out what it was but it looks like well have to wait and see. I did my Hospital Radio plan and went down to do Nards show. It was good to play some indie stuff for a change. Oh and speak on the radio. After dinner and Value For Money, I did my show. Then it was off to Kelvin and Ryans party with Jaime and Katherine. In the car up, Dubstars No More Talk was on. Once at the party, it was pigeon music. Noooooooo!! All night! *But* it turned out to be one big piss take for all of us. I wasnt happy at first and sat in the seated area looking thoroughly bored at the pigeons. However, there were few serious pigeons, thus we got away with our joke dances. Douglas was OK with me. I was glad. We didnt talk too much but he said hello and stuff and admitted how ashamed he was that wed caught him dancing on stage to the pigeon choons. It was so funny when Mark Morrisons Horny came on. That was the song that prompted me to get up and join in. They did play a 70s set though. And Its Raining Men. Jaimies hoochie dancing and mucking about kept making me laugh. Especially at the end when they played Unbreak My Heart! Her drama queen impressions are so funny. Emily spoke to some Spice Girl! And there were plenty of them tonight... Taz took off her jelly shoes and some of our group sitting along the back wall kept swapping them from side to side and she was getting flustered. I wouldnt take off my shoes in that place. Urgh! James seemed to sit around and look depressed. Dont know why. Whilst Rob tried it on with both Jaime and Kylie. Fortunately, both girls have good brains. Jenny was there and shed been drinking. So, as usual, she was crying at the end of the night. At the end, Kelvin snogged some *rough* girl for ages while everyone cheered him on. Doh! Once outside, I sang in the style of Mansuns Taxloss to Douglas: Come back to me, you owe me money, DOUG-LASS! and J & K pissed themselves. Even Gareth chose to congratulate me on it.
