THURSDAY, 31ST OCTOBER IT IS POSSIBLE NOT TO SEE DEATH “And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.” Luke 2:26. Death has been a terror unto many people including Christians. There are some who do not even want to hear the mere mention of it. Their perception of death is a ruler or a king so to speak who lays hands on anyone he likes without any possible resistance. Well there was a time death indeed reigned like that as the bible has said. But we are told that he did reign from Adam to Moses. Romans 5:14. From the time Moses brought about the era of the law, death ceased to reign; that is according to the word of God and not according to man’s experience. God’s word is true; if anyone does not experience what the word says, he ought to find out what more he must know. There was a man called Simeon in Jerusalem who reigned over death. Remember Jesus had not yet died to conquer death when the man gained the mastery over death. His mastery came as a result of the word he heard. Bible says it was revealed unto him, that is told him, that he should not see death until a certain appointed time. That meant that from that day the strength of his life would be based in this faith in the word he had been told. That is why Jesus said “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word from God” Luke 4:4. That revelation was actually given by Moses. Jesus Himself also said, “…..verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man keeps my saying, he shall never see death.” John 8:51. Beloved, what I am sharing with you is not my own idea or way of seeing things but rather God’s desire for every one of his children. Death is not supposed to torment you. Your departure into eternity should not be a tormenting experience through sickness, accident and the like. It is just absence from the body and presence with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8. Confession: Death has no claim over my life. I am a child of destiny and live to fulll my purpose here on the earth. I only depart unto eternity after my work here is done and I do so without seeing death in Jesus’ name! Ps. David
