THURSDAY JULY 3, 2014 Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Mk 16:15 NKJV WHO HAVE YOU WON TO CHRIST? One day a pastor told the manager of a big department store, Ive talked about carpets and bedding and appliances with you many times, but Ive never talked about my business. Will you give me a few minutes? After being led to a private office, the pastor took out his New Testament and urged the manager to become a Christian. Finally tears began to roll down the mans cheeks and he said, Im seventy years old. I was born in this city, and more than a hundred ministers and five hundred officers of various churches have known me in a business capacity. But youre the only man has ever talked to me about my soul. That day he knelt down and gave his life to Christ. Weve got the cart before the horse! We keep thinking if we can just bring visitors to church theyll get saved. And thank God that happens. But when those in the New Testament church met together to celebrate, usually theyd ALREADY been won to Christ by someone before they got there! Christs last act was winning a soul. His last command was for us to win souls. And His last prayer on the cross was for the forgiveness of a soul. You dont have to be theologically articulate; you just have to be in LOVE with Jesus. When youre in love, it shows on your face, and expresses itself in your words. Jesus said, I, if I be lifted up....will draw all men unto me (Jn 1232). Dont worry about drawing people to Christ, just INTRODUCE HIM AND HE WILL DO THE DRAWING. My Thoughts: How many of us have experience meeting someone, and that person just steals your heart? It has happened to me many times in my life, and I expect it to happen many more times. But from the moment that I FIRST HEARD THE VOICE of Jesus calling out my name...Oh, I had never felt such a peace and all consuming LOVE. Now, even though I was raised GOING to church, not missing any of our State and National Meetings. Heavily evolved with all of our local services....I YET DID NOT KNOW HIM. I could re-sight the books of the Bible by memory. I knew most of the Bible Old and New Testament characters. I even played the piano for all of the Christmas/Easter Programs........but I DID NOT KNOW HIM. The lesson on today is asking us all a very important question.......WHO HAVE YOU WON TO CHRIST? The manager of the Department store had Im sure, many born-again believers speaking with him day in and day out, but not ONE of them REALLY TRULY TALKED TO HIM ABOUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.......JESUS. In the time that we spend talking about sports or the latest fashions, or even our favorite television shows, we could find out if they were attending a church. If not, then what a open door for you or I to walk through. Notice the question....WHO HAVE YOU WON TO CHRIST? Sad to say but it needs to be enlarged upon......fasten your seat belts. Far too many are introducing people to their church that are already SAVED. There is a world out there full of the un-redeemed. We live next door to them, and notice week after week that they attend no ones church. What about that co-worker that you listen to, and have noticed that they are struggling ? Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Your and my world may just be a door away. Preach here is not speaking about grabbing a Bible and going door to door, but just TELLING someone about the saving power of Jesus Christ.
