THURSDAY November 7, 2013 Be Faithful! Drink water from your own cistern, and running water from your own well. Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, streams of water in the streets? Let them be only your own, and not for strangers with you. Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth. As a loving deer and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and always be enraptured with her love. Proverbs 5:15-19 Remember when you got married; you said, “For better or for worse.” In marriage, there are going to be good times and bad times. There will be things you love about the other person, and thing you do not like at all. That is all part of marriage. It is all about dying to self. Look at what Solomon said, Drink water from your own cistern. What does this mean? He was saying, “Do not go looking for love and affection outside of your marriage.” It is very simple, just two words, “Be Faithful!” Many times, we get married young and beautiful. She has a great body and he has all these muscles, and then we get old. As life goes on, we age, get out of shape and get wrinkles. It is important to remember, you are both aging. You both look different from the young, beautiful couple who got married. This is not an excuse to go looking for new wells. God wants us to be satisfied with the husbands and wives of our youth. He wants us to love and cherish each other, not for our appearance but because our hearts are right for the Lord. God does not look at the outside. He sees us for the men and women we truly are inside. He wants us to see each other the same way He sees us. When faithfulness is most difficult it is most necessary. ~Author Unknown~
