#TIA, what this this really about? Share Post after reading please. “TIA,” they say; “This is Africa.” But they are not us. We are Africans, Not as they see it, but as we know it. They say our kids are hungry, They’re right; the kids here are starving for greatness. They say Africa is hot, They’re right, we’re on fire, sizzling with ambition. They say we’re one country, Yes, we are united in our diversity! They say we speak ‘African’ But they should know, we LIVE African! By telling our story, our way, We alone define our African-ness, For us, and for the world! This is home. This is life. This is Africa. When people speak about Africa, many have preconceived notions about who we are and what Africa really is. These stereotypes are punctuated by the popular hashtag, #TIA (This Is Africa). DStv has always championed all things African, through world-class content and technology, and we have built entertainment in Africa to greater heights. The Africa we know is not the one portrayed so negatively on TV and on social media. Ours is a positive Africa, a new Africa. Our mission for this movement is to speak to and with the youth of Africa who are going to take these negative perceptions and flip them on their heads. Our world is full of stereotypes about this beautiful continent and this is something we need to change. We will do this together. #TIA MF*
