TIME CAPSULE - Nov. 5, 1924 - Calvin Coolidge won the 1924 presidential election and brought Marietta native Charles Dawes into office with him as vice-president. At that time The Times was located downtown and the newspaper had rented out the Putnam Theater to give residents election returns. Organ music played between returns that were both flashed on the screen, and read from the stage. Organizers estimated the entire theater filled three different times. The theater is now home to the Mid-Ohio Valley Players. Each day TIME CAPSULE takes a look at a different day in The Times 150 year history - mariettatimes/page/content.detail/id/566361/Publication-date--Nov--5--1924--Coolidge-wins-sweeping-victory.html?nav=5290
