TIME FOR REFORM: Below Ive reposted an article from Robert Reich about the single biggest problem facing our country jobs. The Republican party since 2008 has spent countless millions on one goal to guarantee the failure of President Obamas agenda for the economy, health care and jobs. Backed by the likes of the Koch Brothers, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Speaker Bachmann, Senator Rubio, Senator Cruz, Sen Flake, for half governor of Alaska Sarah Palin they have done everything in their power to guarantee the failure of this administration while putting the needs of the nation on the side. Robert Reich in the following article rightly points out that the problem is that the U cited States has absolutely no Stradigy to create jobs. In 2010 the Republicans campaigned on the promise of jobs. During the last 3 and 1/2 years they have spent time blocking presidential nominees for much needed positions. They have voted over 40 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act and have lied to convince people that it is somehow unamerican, socialist, communist or fascist. They have NOT passed one single jobs bill to help the rapidly vanishing middle class 62% of who me are living pay check to pay check. They have refused to raise the minimum wage leaving it at a lower level in actual purchasing power than it had in 1960, the first year of John F. Kennedys administration. People who are working a full 40 hour work week plus a second job are being forced to use government resources such as food stamps and welfare. No one working over 40 hours per week should be forced onto food stamps or other government programs. This includes a significant percentage of the enlisted personnel of our armed forces. Also, the Republican Party has convinced the majority of those under 50 that unions are evil at all times. They have mercilessly attacked Police Unions, Fire Unions, Teachers Unions as well as other public and private sector unions. Corporations who are making billions of dollars in profits while cutting pensions, salaries, fringe benefits, health care and basic rights can afford to raise wages, implement decent pensions and health care. Currently they have no equal and opposite group to hold them accountable. While all this is going on the Republicans are successfully getting our citizenry to direct their anger at the White House. As a solution the middle and lower class need to organize unions and strike for equitable working conditions. Next the United States has always been able to invent new industries that are innovative, competitive and American made. I still believe in the American ability to reinvent itself and compete on the world stage. We can do this if we quit blaming President Obama and Congress and instead do it ourselves. Lets get off our whining asses and act. Finally the left and right need to quit attacking each other and attack our common enemy the Mega corporations and their owners such as the Koch Brothers, the Walrons of Walmart to name just two. I hope youll read Robert Reich analysis which follows and then share this far and wide. Lets roll.
