TIME TO GET TOUGH WITH MACHAR AND KIIR FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE Eight months after hell broke loose in Juba with the sons and daughters of s.Sudan massacring one another in a politically headed rivalry, the nation is sinking deeper and deeper into humanitarian crisis. Africas newest nation is bleeding to death with little attention from the rest of world. While more focus and energy is directed towards the Russia-Ukraine rivalry, the Islamic state group violence and Ebola in West Africa, S.Sudan silently bleeds and cries out with little attention. Is there hope for S.Sudan? Of course, there is hope. Igad and all other actors - specifically its neighbours - have answer to heal the bleeding wounds that S.Sudan suffers. Time has come for the actors to stop handling both Dr Riek and Mr Salva with kids gloves. The must use all the means possible to have the two come together, because it is no longer about their differences, but about their commonalities. Tough, bold actions must be taken to save the suffering people of S.Sudan from this bloody civil conflict that threatens to blow out into a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe. Otherwise the region shall experience a refugees crisis, increased terrorism and general instability - all of which adversely affect trade and economic stability, and in return, peace and security in the Horn of Africa.
