TINARIWEN - the legendary and currently exiled supergroup of Desert blues, visited the Copenhagen Jazzfestival last night. The band - which are from Adrar des Ifoghas in Northern MALI - played an impressive set in front of an enthusiastic audience, still - it seems - without leader Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, in the touring band. The concert started with some pre-recorded Tinde chants of Tamacheq women, which is the inspiration of the music. Spot On Mali Music was present and here is a part of the opening of the concert:
