TINY CHI MIX AND HOUSEMATE HAVE LOST THEIR WORLD ♥ LASSIE ♥ My Animal ID # is A0982232 4 year old Lassie and her 2 housemates, 1 year old Pelusa - A0982233 and younger Nice - A0982228 were surrendered to Manhattan ACC. . They lived their whole lives with one family and now sit in cages wondering what will happen to them. From their owner’s statement, it sounds like the 3 of them had run of the house, ate out of one bowl when they wanted and were never walked on a leash. But they were in decent health then but now have caught the “shelter cold”. When it came time for their behavioral eval, both dogs did really well—scoring all 1’s and 2’s. They likely should not go into a home with young children as a toddler running after them just might be too scary for these little ones. In a perfect world, Lassie and Pelusa would go together to a new home, but the priority here is for Lassie. She needs a patient human who understands how frightening this whole ordeal has been for her and can give her time to recover, can show her what its like to be the princess she was born to be, and give her the long happy life she so deserves. If that’s you, step up to foster or adopt Lassie (and maybe Pelusa!). But do it now or Lassie will be another scared little girl made gone by ACC.
