TIPS FOR BEGINNERS! I have received lots of messages this week from people asking me how to get started. I got myself started in the following ways. These may work for you. It cant hurt to try, right? Everyones journey is different so listen to your own body, too. If you can silence your mind and listen to your body, it will lead you to glory! 1. GET ACTIVE - Choose any kind of activity and do it everyday. Walk, yoga, Zumba, bike, run around with your kids. Doesnt matter what it is. Just start introducing a little bit of physical activity to your daily life. 2. TRACK WHAT YOU EAT - You need to own up to your current eating habits before you can change them. Tracking your food will teach you what you eat and how you eat. You will discover patterns and you will develop self-awareness around your eating habits. 3. REDISCOVER YOUR PASSIONS - Many of us are parents. You simply cant be the best parent possible if you are neglecting yourself. Remember that hobby you loved before you had kids? Pick it up again. You have to make yourself happy in order to make them happy. You need to have your own life. 4. DRINK WATER - Drink 1/2 your body weight in water each day. So if I weigh 200 lbs, Im drinking 100 oz of water each day. There are many strategies to make drinking water easier. I, personally, have to use a straw. Some like it cold, some like it room temperature. Just experiment and be patient with yourself. 5. SET SMALL GOALS - Maybe you want to lose 100 lbs. Awesome goal! But that feels like climbing Mt. Everest when youre new to the journey. Set small goals and modify your goal as you achieve those smaller goals. Also, reward yourself (not with food!) when you hit those small goals. 6. TAKE PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!! Take pictures. Take pictures. Take pictures. I beg you. That day. That day when you get to see your first before/after photo comparison...it will change your life forever.
