TIPTOE TO THE JULEPS. MELBOURNE CUP OUTFITS COURTESY OF NIKKI PHILLIPS. The clock’s ticking (two days to be exact), but it’s not too late to get your Cup day look together. Just make sure you’re holding a first-rate julep when the moment comes. Now back to the outfit; where would you ever find a whole ensemble at this late stage... with brands like Country Road, Marcs, Mimco, French Connection, Witchery and Sunglass Hut (to name a few); T2 at Sydney Airport is the obvious choice. While leading ladies of racing on and off the track, namely Myer Ambassador Jennifer Hawkins and Melbourne Cup winning trainer Gay Waterhouse, have been preparing for the big day for several months, Nikki Phillips has come up with some looks that will take no more than a few hours. Sydney Airport is celebrating by partnering with renowned fashion blogger, model and TV personality, Nikki Phillips, to bring to life her favourite racing essentials found at T2. Phillips has curated her top three spring racing outfits below $350, $500 and $800 with items found within T2 from retailers such as Country Road, Witchery, French Connection and more. You can find the outfits and her other spring racing essentials from Sydney Airport at @sydneyairport on Instagram. “It’s been great to partner with Sydney Airport in the lead up to Melbourne Spring Carnival to discover their amazing array of fashion, food and accessories,” Phillips said. “I’m always travelling and it’s great to know there’s so much to choose from at T2 at every price point – especially for the races. In fact, it was difficult to pick just three outfits!” “With the Melbourne Spring Carnival drawing in more than 650,000 people each year, there’s always a festive atmosphere on Cup day at T2 with Sydneysiders catching their flights to Melbourne,” Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams said. “The reinvigoration of the retail outlets at T2 offers racing-bound customers high-quality fashion, beauty, food and beverage options to discover prior to take off, whether it’s fascinators at mimco, heels from Witchery or a quick cup of coffee from Toby’s Estate.” From 27 October – 9 November, T2 will host musical performances, racing fashion displays and more in celebration of Australia’s biggest racing event of the year. Sydney Airport’s Instagram will also play host to a competition that offers visitors to T2 a chance to win a trip to the Melbourne Cup in 2015 by uploading a photo alongside one of the horse statues that will be stationed throughout the terminal. So make sure you’re in the running with all the other well-hatted folks competing for the title of best dressed (an actual award), sipping on champagne, music playing, and then there’s some kind of three-minute horse race, maybe? You won’t remember. Click here for more information about the campaign: bit.ly/1tqZb38 #NikkiPhillips #MelbourneCup #FashionsontheField #SydneyAirport #UrbanFashion #UrbanSociety
