TL;DR: Tell me about your favorite persuasion-related papers, especially those that involve charity in some way! * * * * * My undergraduate senior thesis will be a literature review of interventions that increase amount of donations/likehood of donations when requests are made. Essentially, Im looking to produce something similar to Nick Cooneys book Change of Heart, but more narrowly targeted for cash donations, one-time interactions (no long series of asks), and active interventions (vs. passive -- not looking at nudging or slow shifting of culture). Possibly with a sideline in interventions related to talking about comparative effectiveness if I can find enough papers, though I doubt I will. My goal is that an EA-inclined person will be able to pick up the paper, breeze through it, and find at least one way to improve a donation campaign they may be considering. Given all of this, are there any scientific papers/books/articles that youd recommend? Even obvious suggestions are welcome, because whats obvious to you may not be obvious to me :) Thanks for any help you can provide!
