TLC is seeking resumes for our position of Office Manager. To Apply: Please submit resume and cover letter to Pastor Steven Renner at [email protected] Job Description: Office Manager Principal Function: The Office Manager is responsible for the clerical duties of the church including interaction with church leaders, members, visitors, and the general public as well as office management. Part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) located in Louisville, Kentucky. Reports to: The Pastor Responsibilities: 1. Establish an orderly and accessible filing system (physical and digital) and maintain its integrity. 2. In collaboration with the pastor or members, perform all clerical functions to include but not limited to: general correspondence - process all incoming mail, phone messages, and emails; edit, produce, proof, distribute, and, on occasion, assemble the monthly newsletter, worship bulletins, annual report, and the annual church directory; write and produce publicity and promotional materials; write checks to pay bills, salaries, taxes, and reimbursements, and file them for signatures; and deliver all mail to the post office. 3. Maintain the written and online calendar for events and facility use. 4. Maintain accurate membership records including attendance, status, address, email and phone contacts, and changes in membership. 5. Maintain church website and all social media of the church on a weekly basis. 6. Order and maintain church office equipment and supplies. 7. Contact all volunteers for worship leadership. Create special bulletin for Pastor, assisting ministers, cantor, organist, and other worship leaders including the prayers of intercession and the prayers of the people. 8. Receive and direct all inquiries (phone, email, in-person). In the absence of ministerial staff, seek to meet emergency needs of members and guests. 9. Work with the building coordinator for weddings on any needed paperwork. 10. Maintain regular office hours. Open building for inspections, workers, etc. Provide a general tour and rental information for potential weddings, receptions, and organizations seeking to rent the space. Correspond with any companies, organizations, and individuals who are currently using space in the church. 11. Give direction to volunteers who may assist in the operation of the church office. 12. Work with Executive Council to implement the annual stewardship campaign. 13. Perform other administrative duties as assigned by Congregational Council and Pastor. Qualifications: Degree or comparable training and/or experience in administration and office management. Computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher) as well as experience with websites and social media. Must have the interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with a variety of personalities while positively representing Third Lutheran Church.
