TLP agreement *THIS IS THE INFO. FOR THE TLP AGREEMENT. September 17, 2012 at 2:47pm We will not be able to start a case until we have this agreement back signed. Agreement between The Lexus Project & ________________________________________ Please be advised that The Lexus Projects (TLP) involvement with any dog is a collaborative effort. This means you are responsible for promoting the dogs face book page and to help to fund the Chip-In for court fees. In order for TLP to take the case: 1) We require a $500.00 upfront fee of which $250.00 will be donated to our Sight hounds in Spain fund. The additional $250.00 is a donation to TLP so that we can continue to do what we do. Pay it forward. Since the average out of pocket costs are between $1500.00 and $3500.00 it is imperative that you do the promoting of the chip in to raise money. 2) We will set up a trust for the dog which you will sign as well as a chip in which will initially find the trust. This is necessary to have standing in order for us to represent the dog. Please note The Lexus Project represents ONLY THE DOG, NOT THE PEOPLE. TLP looks out for the dogs best interest. 3) We will set up a FaceBook page to represent your dog. We will make you an administrator of the page. This page needs to be promoted by you and whomever else you would like to be made administrator. At the end of the case, we wait a few days and then take the page down. 4) You agree to cooperate with TLP and the attorney. This means answering emails and or calls in a timely manner. TLP and or the attorney will require information and documents from you. Remember, the attorney assigned to the case is not your attorney. They are volunteers giving up their own time to help save your dog. The dog is their client. The attorney is answerable to TLP, not you. If you have a question, you can speak to Larisa, the VP and coordinator of TLP, Robin or Rich depending on their availability. Larisa will do her best to answer the questions. Do not contact the attorney on the case unless they specifically ask you to. 5) At any time, TLP is representing as many as 10 dogs around the country. We simply cannot move cases forward without total cooperation and we will have no choice but to assume the dog is either safe or that you have decided to let the dog be executed if you are not returning calls or emails. For that reason, if you are going to be away, you must let us know. 6) Almost any settlement will require the dog to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated. In addition, often the courts will require training. The shelter will charge a per day rate for the boarding of your dog. These costs are YOUR responsibilities unless the money is raised in the fundraiser. Additionally, any fines incurred by you (running off leash, no vaccinations, unlicensed, etc.) are YOUR responsibilty. To the extent of how well you do fund raising, the trust will try to help with those fees. 7) The costs that are paid out of the trust off the top are the court costs and out of pocket expenses incurred by the attorney. Everything else comes after that. TLP works hard, we expect you to work harder. Together we can save a dog. By signing this electronically (email) you are agreeing to these terms and acknowledging your willingness to do what is necessary to help save your dog. The Lexus Project, Legal Defense for Dogs All we are asking for is help from the owner of the dog so we can do what we need to do and for some, it seems to be too much. And the obvious reason we had to start with the agreement, we got burned once to many times. September 17, 2012 at 2:56pm · Like · 12 Brenda Gombola I think this is awesome! We cant expect you to do this with no funding what so ever....how would continue? I read your entire agreement- and what youre asking for is more than reasonable for what you intend on doing to save these precious animals from death at the hands of uneducated officials with power. Is there anything anyone else can do to help so that these poor babies arent abandoned by their only hope....you? What can I do to help?
