TMC sympathisers to rally today Kolkata, 27 November: Intellectuals, artists, filmstars, theatre personalities, players who are Trinamul sympathisers will take out a rally tomorrow from Nandan (I) to protest against the Centres vindictive attitude towards the state, the smear campaign launched by the Opposition and a section of the media. Slamming the intellectuals state BJP president Rahul Sinha said: “It sounds ridiculous that the purpose of such procession is to save Saradha-tainted party leaders from CBI probe.” “The march is aimed at upholding and protecting the rights to swindle public money at the call of the chief minister,” Mr Sinha said, adding that he would like to appeal to the intellectuals not to join such a march called by a party which is corrupt top to bottom. He said that intellectuals had taken to streets many times in the past, like the march to Singur or Nandigram when democracy was throttled by the marxist government. “There was a noble cause to uphold democratic rights of the farmers. But tomorrows march is a march with a difference. It is to protect Saradha-tainted Trinamul Congress leaders who had swindled crores or rupees belonging to poor investors in the ponzi scheme,” Mr Sinha said. It is learnt that they would not use any party banner, rather it would use its own placards and take out the rally from Nandan (1) to Birla Planetarium and end the procession near Academy of Fine Arts. They also demanded that the Centre should bring back black money. Trinamul Congress MPs both in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha raised their voices as the Centre has failed to keep its promise to bring back black money. “We heard the finance minister who is a good orator ~ he can even sell a refrigerator to an eskimo. However, his reply is a summary of what appeared in the media on black money in the last four months. Nothing new, said Mr Derek O’ Brien, Rajya Sabha MP and TMCs spokesperson. Mr Sudip Bandopadhyay Leader of Lok Sabha said: “The Prime Minister said, ‘we will bring black money back to India. If we bring back black money each citizen can get Rs 15 to 20 lakhs each’ during the pre-poll rallies in 2014. How many times did he say this at different rallies? Record says 152 times. The same speech has been delivered throughout the country to impress the young generation. The youth ~ of the age group of 20 to 25 years ~ according to my assessment, were thoroughly impressed and they voted for Mr Modi.” sns
