TMU Hospital, Extension office win second national award for training Translated by Grace Sheng Taipei Medical University Hospital won its first National Training Quality Award in 2011. This year the University’s Continuing and Extension Education Department helped TMUH to win a second National Training Quality Award. In the 2012 category for post-secondary institutions with continuing education systems, TMU ranked first in per-capita production value. The judges agreed that TMU’s Office of Continuing and Extension Education offers both effective training and tracking of specific results. Features of TMU’s specialized training curriculum are: location, design, implementation, evaluation of the effectiveness of the training management cycle on a systematic expansion. Results are judged based on use of feedback, reference correction, and systematic implementation. Thirteen award winners were selected for providing training of the highest quality, as attested to by awards for excellent performance. Administrative Vice President Mao Zhi-Guo, Council of Labor Affairs Deputy Minister Pan Shi-Wei, VTC Secretary Lin San-Gui visited the Taipei International Convention Center presentation to extend their congratulations. The National Training Quality Award is presented by the Council of Labor Affairs to recognize high-quality training and encourage excellent performance by companies, training institutions, and professional organizations. The Council says that by establishing a benchmark for personnel training, overall training quality will improve and leverage Taiwan’s human capital. The award emphasizes five steps of the training process (planning, design, implementation, verification, and results). The competition had 147 participants, including well-known companies such as TSMC, BenQ, and Shihlin Electric. Initial assessments resulted in a field of only 13 finalists.
