TO ALL 3RD SEMESTER NURSING STUDENTS Crystal Michels and I have - TopicsExpress

TO ALL 3RD SEMESTER NURSING STUDENTS Crystal Michels and I have been recently elected 3rd semester ANS representatives. Crystal and I have already spoken to the afternoon classes. However, we’ve been attempting to go to the morning classes to talk to the remaining students, but have been unsuccessful. Since some of the activities are happening soon. I think that the use this media to communicate with several of you might make the process easier. First and foremost, upon attending the first ANS meeting I noticed that the whole third semester group has not been involved in most of ANS activities. When I asked our fellow classmates why, the common response I received was that they didn’t know what was going on. Well, hopefully that will change now that Crystal and I are representatives. I want to encourage all the nursing students to become aware and involved with what’s going on involving the ANS. One of the main reasons is because the pinning ceremony when we graduate is organized by the ANS, as well as the funds through fundraisers. Four of the ANS board members are 4th semester and they will graduate in December. Now, think of this, who is going to organize our pinning ceremony this coming May? I’m sure that if students from other semesters organize our pinning ceremony it will be beautiful, but do we want that? Don’t you think it would be better if our group would be involved in it? Especially since we have been through so much together and beautiful friendships have come to be thanks to the ECC nursing program. Election for next semester’s board member will be very soon! How can you get involved? This Friday 27 from 9-3 there will be the physical assessment Blitz, you can help out first semester students learn how to do a head to toe physical assessment. You don’t have to stay the whole time, but it’s a good way to find out more of what’s going on with ANS. October 15 and 16 there will be a Q&A session from 12-1 where you will be able to ask any questions you have to 4th semester students, or answer questions for 1st and 2nd semester students. Also, there will be a community service opportunity soon in the Soup Kettle Kitchen. It takes place in a church in Elgin. I still don’t have dates but I let everyone know as soon as I find out. Lastly, Chang, the ANS president is trying to decide on sweatshirt colors this semester the options are a black sweatshirt with royal blue writing and a pink sweatshirt with royal blue writing. The pink sweatshirt will be only if there are enough students interested. So let me know in the comments how many of you like the pink sweatshirt with royal blue writing idea. PLEASE TAG any friend from the nursing program so they can see this and don’t hesitate to ask me any questions if you see me in the hall or send me a message or email.
