TO ALL HARDCORE FITNESS MEMBERS I WANT YOU ALL TO BE GEESE! Yes you heard me right, I want you to mimic geese! People wonder why I spend so much time doing group activities with the gym, instilling team work, group encouragement, partner workouts and team events when losing weight or building muscle seems from the outside to be an individual action. People wonder why I will kick members out of the gym for being negative, speaking ill of others, or not being an overall positive part of the program and lose out on business and money. Well my client and friend Loara Azekri tagged me in this today and she saw how it all relates and is so important and hope you all can see as well. Transforming your body is more than just weights and diet its a hard trying process and in the right environment with the right people and support it makes what seems impossible possible because we work together to do what we may have failed to do alone. AMAZING ADVICE: As geese fly in a V formation, each bird flaps its wings creating uplift for the bird behind. In this particular formation, the whole flock adds 71% more to the flying range than if each bird flew alone. LESSON: People who share a common direction can get where theyre going faster and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another. Whenever a goose falls out of formation it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to fly alone. It quickly gets back into the formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the others in the flock. LESSON: If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those who are headed in the direction we want to travel. When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back into formation and another goose takes over the lead. LESSON: Its a good thing to share the hard yards. The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep going and keep up their speed. LESSON: We need to make sure that our honking from behind is encouraging and uplifting rather than something less helpful. When a goose gets sick, wounded, or shot down, two geese fall out of formation and follow him down to help and protect him. They stay with him until he is either able to fly again, or dies. They then rejoin the formation. LESSON: If we have as much sense as a goose, well treat our fellow travelers in the same manner. (Milton Olsen)
