TO ALL OCEANSIDE RESIDENTS and SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES: LIBRARY DIRECTOR OCEANSIDE LIBRARY (NY) The Oceanside Library seeks an innovative leader with demonstrated administrative ability to identify and implement new areas for the library’s growth and promotion. Located on Long Island’s South Shore, the library is one of the busiest in Nassau County, providing dynamic services, programs, and resources to a community of 37,000 with an operating budget of $4.3 million. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Master’s Degree from an ALA accredited institution NYSED Public Librarian’s Professional Certification Three + years of supervisory/professional administrative experience THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL: •Be a skilled manager with a proven track record in staff supervision and development •Possess strong fiscal management skills with experience in budget preparation and presentation to the public •Possess excellent oral and written communication skills •Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills •Be knowledgeable about current and emerging technological developments •Be able to develop, implement, and evaluate long and short-term goals and objectives •Stay abreast of laws and legislation that affect the library •Have experience writing grant proposals and identifying potential projects THIS IS NOT A CIVIL SERIVCE POSITION Interested applicants should send a detailed resume and cover letter to: ocltrustee@oceansidelibrary
