TO ALL: We KNOW times are hard for all, but if you could just donate $5 or $10 it would be GREATLY appreciated! If you cant donate, please share. Thank you This family has been through heck & back in the last few months. Both Mom & Dad were 1st Responders and both are now out of work ~ Dad due to on the job injury & Mom due to auto accident in Sept that has put her out of work as well. We are asking for your help for one of our member’s Jay and Staci Giel, and their children, Courtni, Tyler, Jared, and Daulton, the baby need our help! Jay and Staci were BOTH 1st Responders in Pennsylvania. Jay was a firefighter and EMT with over 15 years of service. Staci is a former firefighter with nearly 10 years of service. Jay is currently awaiting news from his disability hearing, and has not been able to work for some time. Staci had been the sole bread winner of the family, which alone made things tight. Then the family was in a car accident, where Staci suffered major, multiple back injuries, leaving her barely able to walk, and not able to work. The car that hit them was UNINSURED! This accident left their car needing more repairs than what they can afford, so they had been relying on their oldest child for transportation for things like physical therapy, doctors appointments, grocery shopping, etc. Just last week Cortni, their oldest daughter, was also in an accident (an uninsured driver blew thru a light and hit her), and her car ….it is now totaled. As if all of this isnt enough for this family to deal with, and all of this was going on during Christmas! They made it through Christmas but now are out on the streets! They have just been evicted from their home. Complaints had been filed against the landlord for not making repairs, mold being present, no smoke detectors, etc. (the landlord was cited with 6 separate issues). In turn, the landlord began the eviction process. The Giels appealed, but did not have the money to put into escrow when it was due. At this point, Jay and Staci do not know where they are taking their family when they have to leave their home today due to financial issues. They have applied and been denied assistance more than once. All money that is raised will go to Jay, Staci and their family to help with food, housing and transportation. Funds donated will go directly to the family via their fundraiser. 2MBTDC will be donating the deposit for their home once they have found a new home & been able to get enough donations to afford the 1st mos rent. They are not looking for anything spectacular or expensive. All the kids have agreed a 2 bedroom would be great as long as they are together! gofundme/1stResponders
