TO ANYONE GOING TO KOP MALL TODAY: Within the next few hours or so, protestors are going to be staging a die-in in honor of the Black lives that have been lost to police brutality (namely Eric Garner, Michael Brown, & Tamir Rice, to name but a few). Apparently a couple hundred people have been bussed up there from the surrounding states specifically for this purpose & a heavier-than-usual police presence is expected. If you plan on doing your holiday shopping, Id really suggest you wait until the evening, if not perhaps tomorrow. No matter what side of the fence you are on this (& yeah, I know the arguments of what good is this going to do but piss shoppers off), these people deserve the right to PEACEFULLY protest -- its guaranteed in our Constitution. And cops, knowing the current climate of things, need to be mindful of why these people are here & that they arent out for blood (at least I would like to hope not), but rather justice (for the many reasons so many of us have been expressing). May cooler heads prevail.
