TO BE DESTROYED - 3/09/14 Manhattan Center -P DRU DELGADO A0829455. 5yrs neutered male GO TO MAIN THREAD> https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=753665667979648&set=a.611290788883804.1073741851.152876678058553&type=1&theater I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 02/09/2014 from NY 10467, owner surrender reason stated was OWN EVICT. A volunteer writes: Dru is a chunky papa who was well cared for by his owner who unfortunately was evicted. Dru, as a result lost and his family and his home... Dru looks very serious and seems to mean all what he does and does not do. He is set in his ways at five years of age, like an established gentleman. For one, he does not like his kennel. This is not a place for a dog of his lineage. For two, he will adopt a stubborn attitude, if I want him to go faster or to stop smelling other dogs markings. He likes to own his space that he shares happily with me his caretaker and playmate. He would not mind keeping the tennis ball but knows best and releases it in my hand to continue the game. Dru, indeed is a great ball player who despite his corpulence will run very fast and jump very high to catch the ball. He never misses. He is quite a sight, looking like a bull suspended in mid air. Dru is quite a gorgeous dog. He wears a perfect orange coat, free of calluses. He looks healthy although over nourished. His eyes are clear, straightforward. He knows what he wants. Dru is strong and pulls quite a bit on the leash. He is house trained . I would not expect less from a dog like him. He seems fine with other dogs met in the yard or neared in the hallways. Dru exhales nobility. I want to respect him even if I know that as a human and an owner, I have to be the boss. Dru is at the Manhattan Care Center. I hope that soon enough he will find his place back as a proud dog and a faithful pet.
