TO BUILD OR NOT TO BUILD THE TUNNEL, THAT IS THE QUESTION? Dont get me wrong, Im sure GJBS are doing a lot of excellent building works all around Gib to a very good quality, but dont you have to be highly specialised to build a tunnel? Did I hear correctly a few years ago that less than a handful of companies tendered for the original tunnel project because it requires tunnel engineering experts etc? GJBS is a local Co with no previous tunnel engineering experience, and there are thousands of people a day going to be using that tunnel to enter and leave Gibraltar. Im just a little confused here, any help on explaining why a local normal construction company have been given the contract to build a highly skilled piece of engineering would be grateful?
