TO: Christ Community UM Church Family FROM: Rev. Phillips Date: Friday, January 24, 2014 RE: Update on Frozen Pipes Pipes The pipes remain frozen at the church. Thus far, there is no damage, and the water is turned off. Bill Dibble and Richard Dudden continue to monitor the building and the status of the pipes. This status means that toilets should not be in use, that there is no running water for the fountain or kitchen, and those with keys should refrain from accessing the building. Next Steps The hope is with temperatures increasing tomorrow, there will be a window of opportunity to get the water flowing again through the pipes. Bill is estimating that it will be mid-afternoon Saturday before this is known. Plans for Sunday Services Please look for an email on Saturday afternoon with an update pertaining to the situation and the implications for Sunday services. The best case scenario is that we can proceed with our normal services and activities; however, if things are not returned to normal by Saturday, abbreviated services (10:00 and 6:30 )will be conducted for those who wish to come, and those whose personal situation can accommodate non-use of toilet facilities (parents, you are the best judge as to whether or not to bring your children). The church would then close immediately following the AM service with no “Hour” following the service. Prayerfully, these plans will not be necessary; however, I want you to know the back-up plan so you can begin to discern how you would personally handle Sunday should the water still not be in use. The building is warm and we can fill it with our warmth for one another and love for God – but only for a short period – should that be what the situation requires. Your Action Steps Look for Saturday’s update and plan accordingly – and – share the information with those who do not use email. Thank you.
