TO MY BUNNY BRETHREN... As I sit in my hotel room in NYC, nervously awaiting kickoff at 4:20 am, I cant help but reminisce about this past season of Rabbitohs footy. We started off awesome when we defeated the Chooks in our warren 28-8. But then, as if someone jinxed us, we got beat in three games that made us the laughingstock of the NRL. But then, round 5 against the Dragons gave us the win we so wanted. And there was Merritts record-setting tries in the middle of the season. From then on, we kept flirting with the top of the ladder. Towards the end of the season, GI and Alex Johnston showed the entire NRL why we are The Pride of the League! Johnstons several speedy tries against the Knights in Cairns, GIs unstoppable try against Brisbane, and our victory over the Sea Eagles at the SCG made us a team that only Bunnymund and Bigwig could be proud of! Our loss to the Chooks in Round 26 was, unfortunately, a backwards step. Yet, we silenced everyone during the playoffs. Our impressive thrashing of Manly (40-24) was awesome. But our triumph over the Chooks in the preliminary gave us what we have been denied for 43 years: a trip to the Grand Final! And now, for the first time since 1971, before the Sydney Opera House was completed, we Bunnies have the chance to add another Premiership to our already long, illustrious history! This warren belongs right up there with Sattlers broken jaw, Mario Fenechs Minor Premiership, and Piggins team. Cmon, Burgess Bros., GI, Merro, and Madges brilliant leadership has made this band of Bunnies destined for greatness! I hope to God and Frith that the Bunnies defeat those grubs from Canterbury. We SO want this more than them; after all, they were in the GF two years ago, weve been waiting 43 FREAKING YEARS for this! If we can play the same way we did against Manly and Eastern Suburbs in the last two to three weeks, not get overconfident, and play furiously on defense (just dont do anything that would merit a sinbin penalty). I am confident in this teams ability and will be rooting LOUD and PROUD from NYC. I am more than proud of this team and their passionate fans! I may be American, but I couldnt be more proud to call myself an Australian Bunny Rabbit! Good luck, Rabbitohs! And someone say hi to Reggie for me! #proudtobeabunny
