TO MY FELLOW PREACHERS: Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. (2 Timothy 4:2) Today, when we stand in the pulpit before the people, we have but ONE TASK to execute… TO PREACH THE WORD!! Whatever portion of TRUTH the Spirit of God has laid within our hearts to declare. May it be transformed from having been a WRITTEN Word to becoming a LIVING Word through our lips!! And as we handle the Word before the people, we must always bear in mind that we are NOT CAMPAIGNING for their AFFECTION nor for their APPROVAL. But we are there for ONE GLORIOUS PURPOSE... to PREACH THE WORD and to handle the WORD OF GOD FAITHFULLY! We must fully give ourselves to this ONE task and seek to execute it with the utmost of FAITHFULNESS. Only then will our labor in the Word be found pleasing to the ONE who has called and anointed us for this blessed service. And only then will our service be of any true benefit to Him, and to those to which we have been called! Today, there are many challenges for the preacher as an ever increasing number who will not endure sound doctrine steadily rises throughout the land. For many have turned away their ears from hearing the truth. And the present state of affairs within our homes, our schools and our nation as a whole bears this out! Let us be sure to fully disappoint such a company of people who will be present before us. While the hungry remnant goes away, praising the Lord, having become FULL and SATISFIED!! So, in the words of the Apostle Paul, again let us be reminded of our sacred duty… PREACH THE WORD!!
