TO THE ORGANIZERS: Hello! I attended Ozine Day 2 (and have been since 2009) and Id like to point out a few thing from my experience. 1 - I wish that the organizers put together some sort of protocol brief on Facebook so that the con attendees wouldnt be surprised by the very different treatment (as compared to previous Megamall experiences). A lot of the grief Im seeing on FB stemmed from people getting fed up with the lines and not understanding why certain things were handled the way they were. 2 - I hope that the organizers will take note that there will be many more attendees on Days 2 and 3 of the con and actually reserve another hall or find a way to accommodate the people coming in. The con area itself is too cramped to take photos or hang out with your friends/cos group, and having an official control room/lounge would be appreciated. 3 - In relation to this, it would be nice to have pre-sale of tickets on ticketnet/ticketworld, since its much more convenient for the attendees and a lot of the entrance stress that people experienced wouldnt have happened if they knew that: a.) tickets were needed to enter the con venue and b.) it would be easier to buy tickets through convenient means (like I mentioned above) Besides, if the organizers are working with SM, why not make use of their other services as well? 4 - The layout of the con itself was still cramped, but there was an effort to put shops together and create a larger space between each stall. I hope that next time there will be more room to avoid crowding and bottlenecking in the pathways/ 5 - On a positive note, I do appreciate that buying a ticket to get into SMX itself was a security protocol. Admittedly, I didnt want to do this because I initially didnt want to enter the con hall, but in hindsight, this move prevented opportunistic strangers from simply entering the venue and taking advantage of the attendees. 6 - I also appreciated the UV stamps. Unlike the previous ink stamps, these ones werent sweated off. Bonus points for being subtle and not distracting from some peoples cosplays. All in all, the con experience was stressful, but I do appreciate the bigger venue at SMX and the additional security measures. I hope the organizers could take note of all these feedback, since better con experiences will ENCOURAGE people to go. :) Thank you!
