TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AND FOR THE RECORD: LOVE THY ENEMY! Is it still applicable? What is the ultimate solution to IRI and ISIS? A page from the Bahai history: Mohammad Hoda who had received several Tablets from Abdul-Baha resided in the city of Yazd and was so enamored by the prayers revealed by the Bab, Bahaullah, and Abdul-Baha that he often chanted them loudly early in the morning on his way to work and on his way back late at night from work. This was in the city of Yazd back in early 1900s. Eventually the Moslem fanatics found out that he was a Bahai and what he was chanting were Bahai prayers. A group of thugs headed by Mr. Noorani burst to his house one night, burned the house and stabbed him several times while his wife and children escaped to a neighbors house and pursued him in the street and stoned him until he fell and was buried under the ruble. His wife and two children stranded in the deserts finally reached the town of Rafsanjan, some three hundred miles south of Yazd after several months. The children were 11 and 13 at the time. Years later, Noorani was desperately looking for the two children of Mr. Hoda who had left the town in desperation. He pursued the matter and found out that they now reside in Rafsanjan. He travelled there and found the address of this brother and sister, knocked at the door, introduced himself, fell to the ground weeping and saying that he has accepted Bahaullah as the Manifestation of God for this age but could not live with himself until he could see the two children (now in their late teens) and ask for their forgiveness. He was invited to the house and spent the day with them and love (after this long episode of murder and inhumanity) was restored. God works in mysterious ways. May be love will eventually triumph hatred on the grand scale.... May be we have to show patience and love for another 170 years! ps/Mohammad Hoda was my wifes grand father. The story still makes me weep and has a cleansing and purifying influence on my soul. Roger K. Doost
