TODAY IS FRED KOREMATSU DAY -- PLEASE SHARE!!!! It is very important to remember that today is Fred Korematsu Day. Mr. Korematsu, an American citizen, was prosecuted for failing to submit to Japanese Internment during WWII. His conviction was affirmed by the United States Supreme Court in Korematsu v. United States wherein the Supreme Court held that fear of espionage outweighed the rights of AMERICANS of Japanese descent. To this day, that case has never been overturned; although it has very little precedential value because the Justice Department filed official notice that the decision was in error in 2011, it remains on the books. Thank you Mr. Korematsu for your courageous fight and for showing all of us what it really means to be a patriot and defender of all of our rights.
