TODAYS DEVOTIONAL. (Excerpts from Devotionalbox by Dr Isaiah and Lianna Wealth). October 13th THE FORGIVENESS FAST Isaiah 58:6 “Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” Many think that fasting is all about abstaining from food for a season, but God’s Word shows us that fasting is far more than that. Fasting involves consciously defrauding oneself of a right/privilege while giving to another; letting go of what ought to be yours so you can make someone else more comfortable. * * * Our text today shows us how forgiveness is an integral part of a true fast, as it reveals God’s instructions that we loose the bands of wickedness, undo heavy burdens and free the oppressed while we fast. This is so because forgiveness eases the burden of guilt, and when we forgive, we undo heavy burden. Halleluyah! * * * Unforgiveness is an oppression. Just as it is wrong to owe someone and refuse to pay, holding back forgiveness especially from those who have shown remorse for their deeds is oppression. Are there people whose peace depends on your forgiveness? God would want you to set them free today as you observe the forgiveness fast. Amen! * * * LIANNA PROPHESIES: May every part of your life reflect the word in Jesus name. * * * ACTION POINTS: DO THIS: Ponder on all those who have offended you in the past and consider if they have received your forgiveness, If not find ways to communicate it to them. * * * SAY THIS: I decree and I declare that I walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. * * * STUDY YOUR BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: EZEKIEL 12&13, LUKE 13, PSALMS 136 * * * CHRISTIAN MISSION FOCUS: COUNTRY: TUNISIA 65% out of the over 10 million people in Tunisia are unreached with the Gospel. Muslims are 99% of the population. The necessity of learning Arabic is a barrier to many non-Tunisian Missionaries. However, there are many open doors to share the Gospel than ever before. * * * PRAY FOR TUNISIA: We are frustrating every plan of the devil to hinder the spread of the Gospel all across the land. * * * CONTINUOUS PRAYING: Startup prayer: Dear Lord, remind me of all those I need to forgive completely in Jesus name. PRAYER OF CONSECRATION Oh Lord my God, I thank you for your love for me since the year began. Father, I consecrate myself to you this month. Let me not fall short of your best for my life this year. Open my heart to new things by your Spirit. Fill me with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Let my heart yearn for you every hour in Jesus Name.
