TODAYS EPIPHANY: Ive seen a lot of year end slideshows from FB friends over the past few days. And I have enjoyed watching all your highs and lows of 2014. But I decided not to post my review. It wasnt for a lack of trying. I ran both the FB and Slidely apps to create one. But I noticed something. I tried to correct it but its too late. But, no matter how much I tried, I couldnt fix it. Because there was always one thing missing from the photos. Me. In the FB version, there were only 3 pictures of me. One was taken last year, another was from 4 years ago, and the last one was over 50 years old - MY BABY PICTURE. (Ive changed a LOT since then). The Slidely version only had 1 shot of me. The rest of the slides were of my parents, my oldest goddaughters wedding and some quotes. According to both my year end slide shows, I went missing in 2014. What happened? I know I was there. I went to church, work, dinner, movies and other social events. Theres proof on church programs, pay checks, and other forms of media. But there are few if any pictures showing I was present. Sometimes it was because I was the one taking the pictures. Sometimes it was because I was busy doing something or just wasnt in camera shot. And yes, sometimes I avoided the camera for whatever reason. Basically, I was so busy witnessing and being a part of everyone elses life, I wasnt participating in my own. So 2015 is the year of me. Im making sure to be present in my own life. Not just physically but to capture my facial expression, my attitude and my spirit. I will stand/sit/pose, photo bomb for laughs and take a few selfies, too. You will probably get tired of seeing me in so many pictures but too bad. You are stuck with me and aint nothing you can do about it. Memories can fade. But a photo captures a moment in time. It shows where I was and what I ate, who I was with, and how much fun we were having. Everybody say cheese! #2015theyearofme #takemypicture #everyonesmile
