TODAYS ODD FELLOWS: Across time, a system among Orders of Odd Fellows developed into two (2) different directions: 1. Beneficial Friendly Societies - a mutual-benefit association for the purposes of insurance, pensions, savings or cooperative banking among members with some fraternal aspects such as the Manchester Unity Oddfellows and Grand United Order of Oddfellows. 2. Ethical and Charitable Fraternities - a brotherhood and sisterhood dedicated to improving morals of members through a series of initiations and organizing philanthropic projects to benefit the people or communities in need such as the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Besides the three major Orders of Odd Fellows mentioned, there are dozens of other Orders of Odd Fellows today, some with less than a thousand members and they all use the same: the three links emblem and the motto Friendship, Love and Truth.
