TODAYS WORD OF GOD IN GOLD IN TODAYS MASS (1ST SUNDAY IN DECEMBER AND ADVENT) The English word Advent is the Latin derivative of Adventus which means coming. it is also a translation of the Greek Parousia, normally used in reference to the second coming of Christ. it is for us Catholics and many other Christians as well, a season of preparation and expectant waiting for the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas. the season of Advent serves us as a reminder of the original waiting of the Jews for the birth of their Messiah, as well as the Christian celebration of Jesus first coming and awaiting of his return. in between this two comings is the encounter with the risen Jesus in the sacraments and in one another. the prophet Isaiah and the Evangelist Matthew are our main guides during this period. they call us to a life of watchfulness. can we learn from past history? or do we wait until the coming of the Messiah meets us unprepared? forgive me Lord Jesus for being so angry yesterday night...I have forgiven those who made evil statements against me yesterday and I wish to be a better person. happy Sunday Good Souls...I love u all
