Many people theyre good at quoting scriptures but when trouble comes their confession will be according to their circumstances not the Word. Theyre moved, they begin to question if God is still with them or aware of what theyre going through. Weve become a faithless generation (Mark 9 : 19).. yet Jesus through His Word wants to raise a spiritual generation Brethren, remember Job, the man was very rich and blessed with seven sons and three daughters, but when satan striked, he lost everything, his children and wealth, but what was his response after all, did he curse God? no, he said For l know my redeemer liveth....( Job 19:25). The Shunamite woman when her only child died, she quickly dashed off to the Prophet Elisha with only one declaration on her lips,it is well. Though there was a problem, she kept affirming that all was well. She had an expectation, and she held on to that expectation even when it seemed impossible, she kept on declaring it until she got it. I was reading about Heratio Spafford,he was a successful Christian lawyer, his only son died at age 4 in 1871,in 1872, great Chicago fire wiped out his vast estate made from a successful legal career,in 1873 he sent his wife & four daughters over to Europe on a summer trip. Since he had a lot of work to do, he planned to follow them later. The Ship sank & he lost his four daughters with the wife being the only survivor, she sent him a famous telegram which simply read, SAVED ALONE... On His return home, his Law firm was burned down and the insurance refused to pay, they said Its An Act Of God. He had no money to pay for his house and no work, he also lost his house. Then while sitting and thinking whats happening to him, being a spiritual person, he wrote a song - whatever my Lord, you have taught me to say - It is well, it is well with my soul. But later on, the Spaffords were blessed with further children. Just as Job, Shunamite woman and Heratio Spafford responded to their situations, you also l want you to look at your situation through the eyes of your spirit, Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; & God assured us through Isaiah 43:2 saying When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. As a child of God, when youre face to face with uncommon challenges, dont loose heart, such uncommon may be to prepare you for uncommon blessings.
