We start near the Hot Metal Garage where he parks his sleigh every late December while shopping for specialty items on his list. Pass through the Town Square at Southside Works circling its grand decorated tree and peruse the holiday windows of BCBGMAXAZRIA, Sur La Table, and H&M. Longer distances continue downtown to the PPG Ice Rink with its breathtaking 65-foot tree and Holiday Market in Market Square. Weave through wooden, Alpine-style chalets where international artisans will display their wares later that morning. Inspired by the original German Christkindlmarkts, the market even includes Santa’s alternate Pittsburgh home. Longer distances will circle the celebrated tree at the Point, and returning runners will pass the continuing tradition of animated holiday windows at Macys on Smithfield St. Tis the season.
