TOOTSIE(A1015694) ***TOOTSIE HAS BEEN WAITING A LIFETIME FOR HER PRINCE TO COME*** A volunteer writes: Tootsie was all happy when she came to the care center, befriending staff and even rolling on her back for belly rubs. She thought she was on a special outings, to meet new people and may be other dogs.So little did she know…..Tootsie indeed, was being relinquished into our care as her family moved to a place not allowing large pets.She was mostly kept outdoors…chained. She is said to be very playful, well behaved, affectionate and to enjoy being around children. She lived with a cat she chased and a little male dog she played and hung out with… How cute…..It did not take long for intuitive Tootsie to understand that she was not going back home and to her loved ones. She shut down and got a cold very quickly.`Her affect is flat and she is not even eager to eat tasty treats. She accepts caresses but her face is sad. She pulls rather than walks and refuses to enter her kennel. She does not show much interest in other dogs and almost seems paralyzed at the sight of so many pooches and staff. I sit at the edge of her den. Tootsie looks intensely at me. She is a pretty red head who has been well cared for beside the heavy mark of a chain on her neck. She comes forward and poses her chin in my lap . I understand…Tootsie knows I do….Tootsie needs home…an owner who will offer a steady haven and for Tootsie, this will be like the kiss of Prince Charming waking up Snow White…Don’t let this sweet girl down, she only has tonight. Don’t waste another minute, share her for her new forever home.
